Catholic shrines and places of worship in Kerala 1

Kerala a state in India has a rich tradition in Christianity and it is believed that St. Thomas the disciple of Christ himself had come to Kerala where he converted several people to the new faith. Catholics, Orthodox and Jacobites are the major religious denominations along with the CSI church. Protestant and Neo Evangelical groups have recently increased their activty with several new groups and churches coming up especially with drop outs from other christian denominations.
Catholic church is spread out across Kerala, with churches in almost all panchayaths of Kerala. The Cardinal and Bishops along with the clergy look after the matters of the church supported by the christian community. I would like to show you some glimpses of churches, monuments, places of worship etc. St. Alphonsa was the first Saint from Kerala. She is the first woman of Indian origin to be canonised as a saint by the Catholic Church and the first canonised saint of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church
